March 18, 2009 Dear Friend: Community Board # 7 will host its 11th Annual Waterfront Festival on Saturday, September 26, 2009 (Raindate: October 3, 2009) at the 58th Street Pier in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. This free, family-oriented event attracted more than 6000 people in past years and we hope to have close to 10,000 this year. Last year’s program included music and dance performances, health screenings, community and organization information, a petting zoo, historic buses, NYPD and FDNY demonstrations and refreshments. This year we were inspired to begin our planning early so that we can have our most diverse and fun festival to date. Bigger and better is our mandate for this year! All of the planning for and operations at the Waterfront Festival is done by community volunteers. However, the creativity and the energy of our volunteers cannot put together the festival without the generous support of sponsors. Sponsors can participate by donating funds or by providing goods and services. This year we are seeking financial sponsors at the following levels: _____________ Admiral - $5000 Donation checks should be made out to our fiscal conduit, Brooklyn CB 7 Friends Inc. and should note “Waterfront Festival” in the memo section. A check should be mailed to the Community Board Office. All sponsors of Lieutenant grade or better will be listed in our media package and on our promotional materials. If you are interested in donating goods and services, please contact the Community Board to discuss. We hope that you will give serious consideration to sponsoring the 11th Annual Waterfront Festival. The community celebration depends on the generosity of many sponsors and volunteers.
